Talli C. Roberts, ASID
Childhood experiences often have a profound impact on the course of our lives. This is certainly true in Talli Roberts’ case. A childhood battle with cancer meant many long days spent in sterile hospitals and doctor’s offices. So she understood very early the impact that interior spaces have on one’s mood and quality of life. However uncomfortable, those hours confined to a hospital also provided plenty of time to draw, sketch, and create. It was no surprise to friends and family when she chose a career in design.
Born and raised in SW Florida, Talli received her BFA in interior design from Sarasota’s Ringling School of Art & Design. She began her career at a large interior design firm in Naples, Florida that concentrated on high-end residential interiors. Talli worked with architects, engineers, builders, developers and homeowners to bring design and construction projects from conception to completion. Within this environment, an appreciation for design as a team effort was cultivated. She went on to complete the NCIDQ exam to become a licensed interior designer in the state of Florida.
Years later, Talli relocated to the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC. After working for other design firms and furniture showrooms in Western North Carolina, she later founded her own design firm in Asheville. Ultimately, that challenging childhood experience laid the foundation for a creative design career. Today, Talli Roberts is a professional member of ASID and focuses her continuing education on travel and architecture tours that bring new inspiration to her work.
Allard + Roberts has been awarded an AHBA Pace Award for Best Interior Design over $1 million dollars and were also the designers for the AHBA “Best In Show” winner for the Parade of Homes. A+R has also received various awards from ASID Carolinas, and Stars Awards from the NCHBA. Allard + Roberts designs and articles Talli has authored have been published in Carolina Home & Garden, HOME, House Beautiful, Kitchen & Bath Design News, Build WNC, WNC Magazine, and Capital at Play Magazine.
While the awards and accolades are meaningful, what brings Talli the most satisfaction is creating unique and relaxing retreats for her clients to enjoy with their loved ones. For Talli, home is meant to be a place of rest and she believes that interior design is integral to creating that type of environment. In her words, “Our world has a lot of background noise. My goal is to create spaces where our clients can get away from the noise, and focus on making meals and memories with friends and family.” When she is not working, traveling or focused on continuing education, Talli enjoys spending time with her family and planning the next renovation project for her own home.

Sarah Brewer
Sarah is originally from North Carolina, but has had quite a few experiences living abroad, including Germany, Australia, and Thailand. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an Art History degree and a German Studies degree. After graduating and moving to Thailand to teach English for a few years, Sarah returned stateside with a new found perspective on how people live and how people make the most of their home with the resources they have. Seeing different cultural influences in people’s homes all around the world was so inspiring, that she decided to pursue a career in the home furnishings industry.
Sarah began working in the furniture sales, where she enjoyed working with clients from all over the country and getting to hear their unique stories and how these stories influence the style and design of their home. She wanted to take her furniture experience one step further and decided to pursue a degree in Interior Design. Currently, she is completing her design degree through Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design’s online program in her off hours. After five years of working in the furniture industry, Sarah wanted to understand the inner workings of an interior design firm, and discover what a career as an interior designer really looks like. Initially working as the A+R Design Assistant, she found an excellent opportunity for a hands-on learning experience. She then quickly moved up to an Interior Design position, and now manages multiple design projects along with Talli.
When Sarah is not traveling or completing school projects, she enjoys working on her 1920s bungalow with her husband. They have completely renovated the space, and though her husband feels like the renovation is complete, Sarah will always find a project or space to redecorate. She also finds great joy in going to live music shows, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. Of course all of these activities are made extra special when her husband and pup, Charles Barkley, are around.

Brandon Jarrett
Brandon is a local native. He was born and raised in Weaverville, NC, and grew up in the beautiful mountains of WNC. He knew his goal in life was to serve his community in some form or fashion, but didn’t quite know how. After graduating high school, he received his Associate’s degree in Hospitality Management from Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College and started a career in event planning and catering, but soon realized that what he actually loved was designing the events. With a push from family and friends, Brandon attended Appalachian State University and received his bachelor’s degree in Interior Design in May of 2020. After college graduation, he returned home to the mountains of Asheville.
Brandon started out working in furniture sales and learning more about the furnishings and design industry. He joined A+R as the Design Assistant in December 2021 where he found the perfect hands-on learning experience to build the foundations of his interior design career. Now as one of A+R’s Interior Designers/Project Managers, he is able to incorporate his design skills and furniture knowledge into this new role while managing various design projects.
When he isn’t working, Brandon spends most of his time with his wife Lindsay taking in all that WNC has to offer. On weekends he is cheering on ASU (Roll Neers!), plays board/card games with family and friends, or sitting around a fire. He loves to flip thrifted finds, giving them new life and using them in his own interiors. His motto is to live life with a smile because it’s worth it! His kind demeanor and hard-working nature have been a pleasant addition to the A+R office.

Miranda Cato
Miranda grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina which is just a little over two hours from Asheville. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and a minor in Sustainability Studies. She grew up visiting the NC mountains often and aspired to move to the mountains one day.
Her parents worked in real estate throughout her life, and as a child she would go on-site visits with her dad. She watched as he remodeled homes, transforming them for their new owners to enjoy. At a young age, they even remodeled their family home, and Miranda lived through what turned out to be a very inspiring experience. There seemed to be endless new possibilities for their home, which was exciting for her as she planned out her new bedroom design. That turned out to be her very first space planning and design project, one of many to come. She was often rearranging furniture in her room, well past her childhood bedtime. Design inspiration was, and still is, difficult to turn off!
After graduating college, Miranda worked for several years as a set designer for a photography firm. There, she learned how to prepare construction drawings for building sets, selected finishes, and decorated sets with furniture and décor. All this while working hand in hand with the photographer, to achieve the desired final product for each photography client. The skills she learned in that industry were a perfect foundation for her next position. After working as a set designer, she relocated to the mountains of Asheville, realizing her long-held dream. Now working at a luxury residential design firm, she applied her design and project management skills to a new focus on high-end residential interiors. She brought all of that experience to her design and project management position at Allard + Roberts. Miranda enjoys building on her prior knowledge and experience, and also thrives when taking on new responsibilities and challenges. Each new design project offers opportunities for new experiences, further growth, and to apply her experience in and passion for interior design.
Outside of the office, Miranda enjoys spending her time with family and friends. She’s often outdoors exploring new trails with her dog, Sadie, or traveling. Just as much as she enjoys being busy at work, she enjoys staying busy in her personal life as well. Each trip away is inspiring and brings new ideas and a fresh perspective for the next design project.

Caroline Holland
Caroline grew up in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where an early love for nature, craftsmanship, and creating welcoming spaces took root. Raised in a small town in Western North Carolina, she was always drawn to the character and charm of mountain homes, as well as the stories they tell. That early fascination evolved into a passion for design—specifically, design that balances beauty, functionality, and a deep respect for place.
After earning a degree in Interior Design from Appalachian State University, Caroline went on to specialize in technical and architectural design, working on corporate upfits across workplace, healthcare, and retail spaces. A background in Building Science complemented this work, allowing her to bridge creative vision with construction know-how.
For four years, Caroline honed her craft as an Interior Design Manager in Charlotte, NC, focusing on prefabricated millwork and wall systems. Despite her success in the city, her heart always remained in the mountains. When the opportunity came to return home, she followed a long-held dream: to blend her design expertise with the slower pace, intentional living, and natural inspiration found in Western North Carolina.
Outside of work, Caroline loves spending time in nature—whether it’s hiking local trails, mountain biking, walking her dog, or camping. She’s also a maker at heart and enjoys sewing, knitting, and diving into creative projects whenever she gets the chance. When winding down, you’ll often find her reading a good book, listening to a podcast, or catching a comedy show with friends. Whether out on the trail or cozied up at home, she finds joy in creativity, connection, and a well-balanced life.

Lindsey Barrera
Lindsey has loved drawing and painting since childhood, and says that doing those things continue to bring her both energy and joy. Her family has always encouraged that creative side, and many of her best memories involve drawing pictures in her sketchbook with her dad. As a young adult, she worked for her dad’s graphic design and printing business and learned the ins and outs of the creative process. From there, she knew that being in that environment and seeing projects from concept to completion was something special.
Lindsey is originally from South Florida, but has spent most of her life living in Matthews, NC. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education, and then spent 4 years teaching in Wake Forest, NC. When she and her husband relocated to Asheville in the Summer of 2023, she decided to pursue a career that would utilize her strong organizational skills and team-oriented working style, while also allowing her to cultivate her creative side. That’s what drove her to become a part of the team at A+R. As the Office Manager, Lindsey has the perfect opportunity to combine her love for the creative process with the organizational skills she’s brought from her educational background. Working as the Office Manager, she gets to work alongside all of the designers, and loves getting to be a part of each unique project at A+R.
In her free time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Indigo, as well as hosting other family members and friends that come to visit Asheville. Together, they enjoy exploring new trails, cooking, rock climbing, and cheering on their favorite soccer teams (Vamos, Charlotte FC!). Her ideal post-work evening involves walking with Indigo, cooking a homemade dinner, and sitting on the porch at sunset. She and her family are fully embracing the Asheville, NC lifestyle!

Natalie Martin
Natalie has lived in the Appalachian mountains and Tennessee Valley her entire life, calling Johnson City, Chattanooga, and Asheville home through the years.
She attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and shortly thereafter began her career as an administrative professional in the fast-paced real estate industry. During the 6 years she spent in that role, she learned how to balance multiple high-priority items while meeting key deadlines on tight timelines. One of her favorite parts of the industry was being introduced to a variety of styles of architecture with varying floor plans and design aesthetics, as she has always had an interest in design.
In her current role as A+R’s Financial Administrator, Natalie enjoys being immersed in the creative world of interior design while using the administrative and organizational skills she’s honed over the years to assist the design team and our clients. She supports many aspects of the business, including purchasing, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, benefits administration, advertising, and assisting Talli with business planning for each phase of the company’s growth.
Outside of work, Natalie can usually be found with her husband and their two dogs, Blue and Henley, exploring and enjoying the great outdoors. Her favorite hobbies include traveling, hiking, kayaking, reading, and attending concerts. We are grateful to have Natalie’s organizational and project management expertise to help bring each client project from conception to completion!

Sharon Allard
Sharon Allard was born in England, but spent much of her childhood in northern Florida. With family members still living in England, Sharon was exposed to travel abroad from an early age, and has continued to explore new places ever since. After high school, Sharon studied at the University of North Florida and dabbled in photography before moving to the Philippines. She continued her studies there, returning to the states a few years later. She has lived all over the United States, and has found inspiration for her photography in the natural environments of each region – southern Florida, Colorado, Arizona and Washington, DC. Sharon’s travels also allowed her to gain experience in various fields including sales & marketing and business management, before becoming an executive with the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company.
In 2006 Sharon and her husband Jim relocated to Asheville, NC. This eclectic bohemian city is the perfect place for her creative spirit, and allowed Sharon to redirect her career towards those creative roots. In Asheville, Sharon began working with a high end furniture showroom, eventually becoming a buyer and designer for the company. She then joined Talli as a business partner and they worked together to build the firm that exists today. At A+R, she found that Interior Design constantly provides something new to learn and new products to be inspired by. She was instrumental in sourcing the high end brands that A+R is known for, including semi-custom and fully custom furniture. The relationships that Sharon built with key vendors have continued on, even after her retirement.
In 2019, Sharon decided to take a step back from business ownership to pursue her other passions including Pilates, photography and travel. She still consults from time to time, when she’s not taking a Pilates class, or away on a new photography adventure. If she’s not traveling or consulting, she and her husband can be found checking out the latest restaurant to open in Asheville, or on long walks around Grove Park with their two dogs, Nikko and Luca.
